Works well in a car : Mach Speed Cartunes Max FM Transmitter
This thing is supposed to allow me to play my regular mp3 player on my car's radio. It came with a very low quality wire to connect the 1/8" headphone output from my mp3 player to CarTunes. The connection was spotty at first, and then the wire's connector fell apart, leaving the tiny white and red wires inside showing. So much for that option. I am left now with only the capability to play music that I've loaded onto the CarTune's 2GB built-in memory. That would be a wonderfully generous amount of memory if it were possible to make playlists on this thing. However, the only way to control the order of the songs you hear is by manually clicking and dragging the songs in the desired order from your PC/laptop or whatever onto the CarTunes. Also, the unit will play your list of songs from the beginning every time you power it up. This means that if you drive for 15 minutes, shut off your car, then return to your car for another 15 minute drive, you will hear the same songs on each drive. What use can 2GB of memory be when I'm never going to hear past song #10 or so on my player?
The display is far to small and dim to be read while I'm driving, even after I removed the plastic dome covering the display. I'd use it on a road trip I suppose, but for daily use it's a huge disappointment.
